EPA - The Environmental Protection Agency offers the Economics of Sustainability which consists of modules covering seven topics associated with the socioeconomics of sustainability, including environmental careers, environmental decision-making tools, community benchmarking and trade analysis, green marketing, and ecotourism.

Grants.gov - Grants.gov is the single access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal grant-making agencies.

Michigan

Community Pollution Prevention Grant Program - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality's Community P2 Grant Program seeks to bring local government, businesses, planning agencies, and residents together to achieve measurable waste reductions of pollutants using innovative sustainable pollution prevention practices.

Financial Assistance, Grants, and Loans - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is committed to forming partnerships with interested groups and local community organizations to achieve the mutual goal of protecting and enhancing environmental quality in Michigan, for the benefit of current and future generations. Financial assistance and information about the various funding opportunities are available through grants and loan programs.

Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth - The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth promotes economic and workforce development and job creation in Michigan.

Michigan Economic and Development Corporation - The Michigan Economic and Development Corporation provides Michigan businesses with tools for  relocating, expanding, working with state agencies, and other development needs.

Small Business Association of Michigan - The Small Business Association of Michigan is a statewide organization that works to improve the climate and conditions for Michigan's small businesses.

Small Business Pollution Prevention Loan Program - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Small Business P2 Loan Program (P2 Loan Program) provides loans of up to $400,000 at an interest rate of 5% or less to existing independently owned businesses with 500 or fewer full time employees. Projects that qualify for P2 loan funding include those that eliminate or reduce waste at the business location (source reduction), result in environmentally sound reuse and recycling for the loan applicant's generated wastes, conserve energy or water on-site, or are a qualified agricultural energy production system.

Non-profit

BALLE - Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) is an alliance of local business networks working to foster healthy regional development by ensuring that economic power resides locally, sustaining healthy community life and natural life as well as long-term economic viability. BALLE supports the growth and development of community-based business by providing local networks with tools and resources such as an online business marketplace, links to best practices, media tools, public forums, and pilot initiatives.

Green Communities Funding - Enterprise, a national community development nonprofit organization, supplies loans, grants, and informational resources to aid with construction of affordable, low-income housing. Their Green Communities program provides grants, financing, tax-credit equity and technical assistance to developers seeking to create low-income green housing.

The Kresge Foundation - The foundation is a $3 billion national foundation that builds stronger nonprofit organizations-catalyzing their growth, helping them connect with their stakeholders, and challenging them with grants that leverage greater support.

Investment/Investor Resources

Ceres - Ceres is a national network of investors, companies, environmental organizations, and public interest groups working to address sustainability challenges though capital markets. This website provides links to projects, investor programs, member organizations and companies, and publications. The Ceres-ACCA North American awards program is designed to highlight best practices reporting on sustainability issues.

Dow Sustainability Index - Dow Sustainability Index tracks the financial performance of leading sustainability driven companies.

KLD - KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. is an independent investment research firm providing management tools for integrating environmental, social and governance factors into investment decisions.

The Progressive Investor - Green Investing is a newsletter tracking financial performance of sustainable companies worldwide.
