The Department of Defense/State of Michigan Environmental Alliance is a voluntary partnership between the State of Michigan, the Environmental Protection Agency and various Department of Defense bases, research centers, offices, and facilities. This voluntary program focuses on preventing pollution and facilitating progressive information exchange at federal defense sites in Michigan.
PURPOSE:
The various military organizations found in the State of Michigan along with state and federal regulatory agencies have developed the DOD and State of Michigan Environmetnal Alliance to promote the ideals found in pollution prevention guidance. The alliance will meet regularly to discuss issues, and will communicate in other ways, so that they might share information that will save both resources and time. Ultimately this process will lead to improved environmental conditions at the military sites and further pollution prevention ideas for all involved.
