Environmental Enhancement Module

The second program area is the Environmental Enhancement section.  This section is currently under development and will focus on advancing the “green space” value of golf course properties.  It will be dedicated to promoting fish and wildlife habitat, indigenous vegetation, and water quality protection through the development of buffer strips and will involve partnering with advocacy groups that are dedicated to these areas in Michigan. Experts from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Michigan Audubon Society, Pheasants Forever, watershed councils and land conservancy groups will be consulted to develop and implement this section of the program as they have a great deal to offer golf course properties.
