The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) hosted a pollution prevention workshop for staff from the Department of Natural Resources Parks and Recreation Division in September 2004. The objective of this training was to help educate park officials and provide guidance on instituting practices focusing on pollution prevention, energy efficiency, water conservation, and environmentally preferred purchasing. Participants were provided samples of environmentally preferred products for use in the parks and were able to take part in on-site pollution prevention assessments and interactive presentations on preferred practices for park managers.
For more information, regarding this workshop or how to become involved with the State Park Stewardship Initiative, please feel free to contact Karen Edlin via email or by phone at 517-373-0604.
