The following sites are neither endorsed or supported by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. This list is provided to help you find more information about recycling.
- Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) is a voluntary initiative of the carpet industry and government to prevent carpet from burdening landfills. CARE focuses on developing carpet reclamation and recycling methods.
- The Midwestern Working Group on Carpet Recycling "was established to address concerns about the growing amount of carpet that is reaching the end of its useful life and entering the waste stream in the Midwest region. Participants in this joint project are promoting the idea of product stewardship as a method to address waste carpet."

U.S. EPA Carpet - This U.S. EPA sponsored website contains information about the carpet waste problem in this country.

Memorandum of Understanding for Carpet Stewardship - This site contains information about the agreement signed in January 2002 that establishes an ambitious ten-year schedule to increase the amount of recycling and reuse of post-consumer carpet and reduce the amount of waste carpet going to landfills.
