| Green Chemistry Support Roundtable |

The Department of Environmental Quality is in the process of creating a Michigan Green Chemistry Support Roundtable (Roundtable). Roundtable members, to be appointed by Director Steven Chester, will assist the DEQ in the implementation of Governor Jennifer M. Granholm's Executive Directive number 2006-6 (Directive), "Promotion of Green Chemistry for Sustainable Economic Development and Protection of Public Health." The Roundtable will consist of approximately 20 members, representing public health, industry, environment, local government, the general public, and economic development. The DEQ hopes to appoint the Roundtable by March 2008.
The Roundtable will meet quarterly to discuss policy issues as the Directive moves forward and to review the work of the Green Chemistry Support Program. Roundtable meetings will be open to the public. Details such as the meeting agenda, meeting summaries, the names of the Roundtable members, and how to contact the Roundtable will be posted on the DEQ's Green Chemistry web site.
