$500,000 available for scrap tire recycling efforts: Scrap Tire Market Development Grants promote reuse and new uses for old tires

DEQ officials today announced $500,000 available to public and private operators working to recycle scrap tires.

 

The Scrap Tire Market Development grants, made available through the Scrap Tire Regulatory Fund, reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost to purchase scrap tires, equipment or for research and development to provide a new or increased use for scrap tires.

 

The DEQ will accept Letters of Interest received or postmarked on or before Jan. 30, 2012. Interested persons must submit a Letter of Interest and be approved by the DEQ before submitting a full application. The DEQ will not accept Letters of Interest submitted by e‑mail or fax.
