    Superfund Site Assessments

    Contact: Joseph Walczak (517) 284-5167

Since 1985, the Site Assessment Group of the Superfund Section has been contracting with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) through the use of cooperative agreements to perform Superfund Site Assessment activities.  Superfund Site Assessment work consists of discovery, evaluation, and nomination of contamination sites to the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL) as defined in the Comprehensive Environmental Remediation, Compensation, and Liabilities Act (CERCLA).  Here is the link for a discussion of the Superfund Site Assessment process.
