Many governmental agencies in Michigan are involved in various aspects of stream channel stabilization or rehabilitation. Many of these agencies use morphological analysis tools to determine stream stability and natural stream design. Staff from state and federal agencies formed Michigan's Stream Team in 2002 to share resources and develop common methods for collecting stream data that were used to create regional reference curves for the entire state of Michigan.
