Great Printers Project Mission, Goals and Objectives

Agency: Natural Resources

The mission of the Michigan Great Printers Project (MI-GPP) is to promote pollution prevention as a standard practice of the printing industry.  Through the project, printers, print buyers, suppliers, regulatory agencies and technical assistance providers work to create a cooperative business environment that is both economically sound and conducive to pollution prevention. The project stresses pollution prevention as the preferred method of achieving environmental compliance.

Project Goals and Objectives

  • Increase membership and participation by facilitating continued growth of the MI-GPP and print buyers initiative.
  • Introduce initiatives, publications, and/or outreach activities directed toward the commercial printing industry.
  • Develop and distribute case studies with MI-GPP members to enhance technology transfer between members.
  • Promote pollution prevention information and technologies through all means available (e.g. meetings, mailings, workshops, conferences, email offerings, website development).
  • Focus efforts to further integrate MI-GPP program objectives with other applicable pollution prevention partnerships and programs (e.g. EPP, MBP3, Small Business P2 Loan Program, EMS, C3).
