2017 Excellence in Recycling Awards

Excellence in Recycling Awards Nominations Due March 10, 2017

Individuals, businesses, and organizations who last year made strides with new or enhanced recycling projects around the state are encouraged to submit those projects for Excellence in Recycling Awards, a program of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). Nominations are due March 10, 2017.

The MDEQ will select top performers in three categories:

  • The Outstanding Education Program Award, which recognizes an individual or group for a commitment to educating others about the need for – and benefits of – recycling.
  • The New or Enhanced Program Award in 2016, which seeks to highlight a new or improved recycling program that made noteworthy advancements in providing community access to recycling during 2016.
  • The Closing the Recycling Loop Award, which recognizes businesses that make products from recycled materials (such as paper, metal, glass, plastic, or food waste) generated by Michigan households and businesses.
