Proud Father and Proud Parents Programs

Healthy Marriage and Fatherhood Logo The Proud Fathers and Proud Parents programs are designed to improve outcomes for children by supporting active, positive male parent involvement, improving co-parenting efforts and encouraging healthy, long-term adult relationships of couples. The goal of these programs is to increase public awareness regarding the benefits to children of involved male caretakers, healthy adult relationships and co-parenting efforts.

Proud Parents:

  • Uses The Marriage & Parenting (MA & PA) Program's 10-week curriculum.
  • Couples' group experience.
  • Focus is on shared goals, family leadership, co-parenting, teamwork, discipline, feelings, communication, resolving conflict and couple commitments.

Proud Fathers:

  • Uses The Nurturing Fathers Program 13-week curricuum with a 14th week employment component added.
  • Male group experience.
  • Focus is on childhood experiences and parenting, male nurturing, communication, co-parenting and the use of influence versus control.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to participate in Proud Parents or Proud Fathers programming, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • 14 years of age or older.
  • A parent of a child under the age of 18, expecting to parent or a caregiver.
  • Married, unmarried or co-parenting.
