Eligible Care Requirements

DHS payment can be used to subsidize most child care in Michigan:
  • Child care center or group child care home - licensed by DHS, Office of Children and Adult Licensing
  • Family child care home - registered by DHS, Office of Children and Adult Licensing
  • Day care aide, cares for the child in the child's home - enrolled by DHS
    Requirements to be a day care aide provider.
  • Relative care provider, cares for child in the adult relative's home - enrolled by DHS.
    Requirements to be a relative care provider.
