The Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Children and Adult Licensing issued an order of summary suspension and notice of intent to revoke the license of Wayne County family foster home parents Lasana Karva and Christine Woodward, 42955 Sadie Lane, Belleville, Michigan. This action resulted from a recent investigation of a complaint of the foster care family home.
The April 11, 2007, complaint investigation found violations of the Child Care Organizations Act and administrative rules regarding member of household qualifications and water supply. OCAL took emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of children.
Effective 6:00 p.m., April 13, 2007, the Summary Suspension Order prohibits Lasana Karva and Christine Woodward from operating a family foster care home at 42955 Sadie Lane, Belleville, Michigan, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, she may not accept children for foster care after that date and time.
Mr. Karva and Ms. Woodward have held a license to operate a family foster care home since November 6, 2006. The license was for two children.
