The Department of Human Services (DHS) helps individuals and families meet basic needs. On a temporary basis, we might be able to help you take care of yourself and your family. However, our ultimate goal is to help you become, or remain, self-sufficient. We offer programs and services that:
- encourage employment,
- provide financial and emotional support to children and families, and
- increase personal responsibility.
The DHS might also be able to provide you with medical assistance, as well as help with other family needs. IF the DHS cannot assist you, we will try to refer you to an agency that can.
Your DHS specialist will speak with you in more detail about the rules, regulations and programs.
Visit your local DHS County Office to apply for assistance.
