The November 1995 Achiever of the Month Award was presented to Michelle Mann of Rockwood. Ms. Mann is a single mother of three children. Her youngest daughter suffered traumatic brain injury at the age of three when a construction I-beam fell on top of her.
Ms. Mann applied for public assistance and requested services from the MOST program because she was in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Wayne County Community College and needed help. While attending school full-time, she did volunteer work and was a member of the Occupational Therapists Association.
Ms. Mann graduated in December of 1994 with honors and is currently employed with Southcoast Rehabilitation as part of a special interdisciplinary team specializing in Geriatrics. Michelle's AFDC case has been closed since June 20, 1995.
