| Gloria Mologianes |
Gloria Mologianes, a mother of three from Grayling, received the January 1995 Achiever of the Month Award. She had to apply for assistance due to a problem pregnancy that necessitated her leaving her position as a Nursing Assistant at a nursing home.
Later, due to a back problem, she found herself sitting at home, depressed and faced with family problems.
She completed an Associate of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, but still could not find a good paying job. After volunteering through the MOST program she attended one of the first Social Contract orientation sessions and believed in the program so much that she helped people come up with ways of fulfilling their Social Contract.
Mrs. Mologianes now holds the position of director of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. She no longer receives AFDC due to employment and says she owes it to the volunteer experience she gained at DSS.
