Charles W. Jones

DHS Achiever 101994 The October 1994 Achiever of the Month Award was presented to Charles W. Jones of Saginaw who came to the Saginaw County Department of Social Services as a Social Contract volunteer. He became involved in the initial orientation sessions that staff were doing for the Social Contract. Mr. Jones is now running the show and comes in everyday, Monday through Friday form 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Since coming to Saginaw as the head volunteer of the Social Contract orientation, Mr. Jones has also found employment and is working part-time in the evening and on weekends at a restaurant. He was asked to be a guest speaker at the Michigan County Social Services Association Conference in Dearborn and he conducted a workshop for a conference titled "Charting a Course: To Strengthen Michigan Families". At both he spoke about the client perspective and the success of Social Contract orientation program in Saginaw County.
