Overview

Audits were performed to determine if the costs charged to the Department of Human Services (DHS) were proper, accurate, documented, and charged in accordance with the terms of the contract held by the County Friend of the Court or the County Prosecuting Attorney.

County Friend of the Court Offices hold contracts with DHS to enforce all orders of support over which the County has jurisdiction, to locate absent parents, and to provide certain reports on child support collections to the DHS.

County Prosecuting Attorney Offices hold contracts with DHS to establish paternity and to obtain support orders for all counties where they have jurisdiction.
