News Release - November 10, 1999

The following statement was issued by Douglas E. Howard, Director, Family Independence Agency, in response to a temporary restraining order on drug testing.

We will fully comply with the court order. We look forward to making our case in court and remain confident that we will prevail.

We look forward to returning to this program which was allowed by federal legislation, enacted by the Michigan legislature and supported by our customers and the general public.

The drug testing pilot is an opportunity to help individuals find employment and to strengthen families. We believe it is the right thing to do.
