What is the first step in becoming foster parents?
 
Answer:
Telephone or write the local Department of Human Services for additional information and arrange for an appointment to discuss becoming foster parents. After the discussion with a services worker, the parents and the services worker decide on the next step, which may be completion of an application to become a foster parent.
