FAQ
  State Disability Assistance (SDA)
Is my employer required to provide an interpreter or assistive devices so that I can participate in staff meetings?

Answer:
Yes. Employers must accommodate employees with disabilities when requested. If you need accommodations for your job, then request what you need related to your job requirements or benefits other employees have and put it in writing to your boss or supervisor. Be ready to help your boss or supervisor find the accommodation you need. If you need more technical assistance, then call DOD. Remember, the key point when requesting communication accommodations is the accommodation must result in effective communication.
