Weston Named New DHS Director for St.Clair/Sanilac Counties

Lansing, Mich. August 9, 2013 – The Michigan Department of Human Services is pleased to announce the appointment of William Weston as the new director for St. Clair and Sanilac counties, effective August 19, 2013.

Weston is a 17-year veteran of DHS who most recently has been acting director for Roscommon, Iosco and Ogemaw counties.

Weston was a first-line and second- line program manager in Saginaw County, and more recently was second-line program manager in Livingston County. In addition, Weston previously worked in Child Welfare Field Operations as a division director and led the Data Driven Decision-making Project from 2011 to 2012. During this project, Weston led the creation and implementation of the Infoview child welfare data reports currently available for use by DHS staff statewide.

He replaces acting director Deborah Walbecq, who assumed the leadership role in both counties for the State following the retirement of longtime director Kay Andrzejak.
