Retailers may charge a fee for providing cash if no purchase is required. This fee may not be greater than that charged to other clients obtaining cash without a purchase requirement. We encourage retailers to consider waiving or minimizing this fee wherever possible, both as a service to the community and as a competitive advantage over other potential competitors. We also suggest that this fee, if necessary, could be less than that typically charged for cashing checks. Under the Bridge card program, you may avoid certain fees from your financial institution, and the risk of non-payment for fraudulent checks is eliminated.
