(LANSING) In an effort to help educate Michigan consumers, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) will be hosting a free presentation on scams targeting seniors at the Big Rapids Community Library on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The presentation “Seniors and Identity Theft” is a brief explanation about various scams targeting seniors nationwide. The goal of this presentation is to provide tips on how to spot a scam; how to prevent from becoming a victim of identity theft or other fraud-related crimes; and what to do if your identity has been stolen. Resource materials and tips provided.
