Director, Office of Employee and Financial Services
Ms. Palmer Giron has 18 years of experience in state government budget, finance and legislative initiatives. Having joined the Department of Information Technology in July, 2007, Ms. Giron serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Employee and Financial Services for the Department of Information Technology. In this capacity, Ms. Giron is responsible for the oversight of the department's budget and finance operations, human resources, policy development, facility/building management, the department's organizational development and training programs, and all other administrative functions of the agency.
Ms. Giron served with the Michigan Department of Treasury for nine years, where she held the title of Chief Accountant and State Division Administrator. During her tenure at the Department of Treasury, she developed policies and procedures, administered and managed the department's accounting functions, formulated her division's strategic plan, coordinated succession planning, and participated in developing the department's budget recommendations.
She is a graduate of Hillsdale College with a B.A. in Accounting and she is also a Certified Public Accountant.
