Governor Granholm announced the appointment of Kenneth D. Theis as director of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), replacing Teri Takai who has resigned and has accepted a position in California.

• Michigan: Foreign Language Content Theme
The State of Michigan has just launched a Foreign Language Content theme on the Michigan.gov Web site. The new theme will provide access to categorized online services and documents that have been translated for use by the Spanish and Arabic speaking population of Michigan.

• Dan Lohrmann, Michigan CISO, ISE Central Award Winner 2006
April 24, 2006- Dan Lohrmann was appointed as Michigan's first CISO in May 2002. He also serves as the Director of Michigan's Office of Enterprise Security within the Michigan Department of Information Technology (DIT). Dan chairs the Cyber-Security Sub-Committee within Michigan's Homeland Protection Board, and is the President of Michigan InfraGard for 2006.

• Michigan Launches Mobile Web Portal
March 14, 2006- Over 4.5 million visitors to the state's web site use cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and other mobile devices to access online services. In answer to this increasing demand, Michigan has launched a new mobile version of the State web portal: mobile.mi.gov.

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Il.- Michigan's technology employment ranked as the 10th largest in the United States in 2004, adding some $13 billion in payroll to the state's economy, according to a report just released by Cyberstate.
