The Portfolio Liaison is an important role within the Project Management Resource Center (PMRC). The Portfolio Liaisons provide a single point-of-contact to their parent organization regarding activities happening within PMRC, are a part of the team for the different PMRC initiatives, provide valuable feedback on how to make these projects and initiatives work for their organization, and provide up-to-date information on projects and project management activities that affect the portfolio liaison and their organization. A listing of the DIT Portfolio Liaisons is provided below.
Short-term:
· Collect project information (i.e. name, description, project manager, target audience, benefits, cost – internal and external) for all IT new development, enhancement, and maintenance projects
· Obtain information (i.e. server type, language) for all IT applications/systems and identify its relationship to the IT projects
· Receive training on the project tracker tool to input and update project information
· Receive training on the project management framework for DIT projects
· Provide feedback on Niku project reports that will be helpful for agency project managers and DIT leadership
· Identify and discuss project prioritization models and tools that exist within the agencies
· Assist with developing a DIT-wide project prioritization model (such as questions to be asked for each project, parameters to be evaluated)
· Identify existing project/program offices currently in-place within the agencies
· Discuss lessons learned, guidelines, best practices, processes, and procedures for consistent DIT-wide project/program offices
On-going:
· Update project information for all IT projects using the project tracker tool
· Receive, review, and approve monthly project dashboard reports for distribution to DIT management and executives
· Receive, review, and approve other agency reports for distribution to DIT management and executives
· Assure that agency project managers are providing the required information for project tracking
· Identify and input information for new DIT projects and systems/applications
· Attend bi-weekly PMRC project update meetings
· Attend bi-monthly project management networking group meetings
· Identify new projects for PMRC regarding project management, portfolio management and resource management
