MPSC Approves Settlement Agreement Authorizing SEMCO Energy Gas Company's 2009-2010 Gas Cost Recovery Factor

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing SEMCO Energy Gas Company to implement its 2009-2010 gas cost recovery (GCR) factor. 

The utility is authorized to incorporate into its rates a base GCR factor of $7.8394 per thousand cubic feet (Mcf), effective with the next billing month.  The base GCR factor is subject to adjustment pursuant to a contingency matrix mechanism.

The utility, the MPSC staff, the Attorney General, and the Residential Ratepayer Consortium participated in the settlement agreement.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
