Investment Securities Credit Files |
Effective August 1, 1970, Commissioner's Rules numbers 41 through 51,
dealing with the purchase of investment securities, were issued under
authority granted the Commissioner in Sections 19 and 154 of the Banking
Code of 1969.
Your attention is directed to Rule 45 which states: "A bank shall maintain
in its credit files information adequate to demonstrate that it has exercised
prudence in making the determination and carrying out the transactions
described in Rule 42."
It is expected that all banks will comply with the above stated rule,
and credit files containing adequate information will be maintained and
available for examination by representatives of this Bureau at all times.
