Fees in excess of $25.00 charged by surplus lines licensees

On December 15, 1981, a new administrative rule (R 500.1251) became effective. The rule establishes a procedure for surplus lines licensees to follow when charging fees in excess of $25.00. A copy of the rule is attached for your information.

The promulgation of this rule has made it necessary to modify Form 811302 entitled, "Surplus Lines Insurance Licensee Certification Form," which was contained in Bulletin 81-13. Attached is a copy of the revised form.

The revised form is to be used in place of the original form, which is hereby rescinded.

All other provisions and forms contained in Bulletin 81-13 remain in effect.
