Ingham County Circuit Court Judge William E. Collette Friday approved Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services Comissioner (OFIS) Linda A. Watters’ plan to sell the assets of The Wellness Plan to Amerigroup Michigan, Inc. Commissioner Watters is the rehabilitator of The Wellness Plan.

“This is a positive step for the members and creditors of The Wellness Plan,” Watters said. “As rehabilitator, my major focus is on ensuring continuity of care to plan members, and maximizing the payment of claims to providers. Amerigroup is a financially strong company with the ability to inject significant financial resources into the Detroit economy. It is well positioned to hit the ground running,” Watters added.
