How to become licensed as a solicitor

Resident Solicitor

Non-Resident Solicitor

You must be licensed as a solicitor in a state that required an examination to become licensed, or take the Michigan examination.

  • Solicitor Application FIS 0221
  • Fee Processing Card FIS 0223
  • Application/License Fee - $20.00 non-personal check or money order payable to State of Michigan
  • A letter of certification from the home state must specify that the applicant is licensed as a solicitor. If the certification is not so specific, the applicant would be required to Register for an Exam.
