The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order approving Verizon North Inc.’s and Verizon North Systems’ proposal to increase 12 rates for business and residential basic local exchange service.
The companies filed a notice with the Commission on Sept. 8, proposing to increase the above mentioned rates by 0.64 percent. The Michigan Telecommunications Act allows rate increases that do not exceed the consumer price index (CPI), minus 1 percent.
Noting that the requirements of the MTA have been met, the MPSC approved the rate increases.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
