NOVEMBER 29, 2005– The Diversified Machine, Inc. – Detroit facility (formerly known as Uni Boring Company-Detroit)will receive an award for an outstanding safety and health record from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) on Friday, December 2, 2005, at noon at 2555 Clark St., in Southwest Detroit.
The MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division recognizes the safety and health achievements of Michigan employers and employees through CET Awards, which are based on excellent safety and health performance. The CET Bronze Award recognizes leadership and commitment to workplace safety and health resulting in significant improvement of their MIOSHA record. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG).
MIOSHA Deputy Director Martha Yoder will present the award to Plant Manager Frank Colarossi, who will accept on behalf of all plant employees. New owners and some corporate management representatives will attend the award presentation.
This facility is one of three plants located in Southeastern Michigan that make up Diversified Machine, Inc., which is under new ownership and at the helm of Bruce Swift, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The Detroit facility employs approximately 100 workers and performs precision machining of a variety of automotive parts and components.
