NOVEMBER 9, 2007 -. Media representatives are invited to attend the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth's "MI SHARE (Sharing How Access to Resources Empowers) Network" meeting. The event is being hosted by the Washtenaw County Michigan Works agency, which has been a partner in the SHARE Network since it launched last year to assist Michigan citizens with job searches and access to local resources such as child care, clothing, literacy assistance, mentoring, and housing.
Attending the two-day event will be representatives from DLEG, Michigan Works agencies, and faith-based and community organizations from across the state.
The SHARE Network Initiative represents a partnership between the Workforce Development System and Faith-Based and Community Organizations (FBCOs).
This initiative has two components:
- An Online Resource Directory, http://www.michigan.gov/sharenetwork , which consolidates information on local and state resources in a centralized location; and
- SHARE Network Access Points (SNAPs), which provide job search assistance and referral to other services, in various faith-based and community organizations throughout the state.
