July 21, 2008 - Dow Corning Corporation's Auburn Site will receive the Star Award, the state's highest workplace safety and health award, from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), at a special ceremony and luncheon Thursday, July 24, 2008, 11:00 a.m., 5300 Eleven Mile Rd., in Auburn.
The Michigan Voluntary Protection Program (MVPP) Star Award for an outstanding safety and health system is awarded by MIOSHA, and recognizes worksites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for their workers. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG).
MIOSHA Director Doug Kalinowski will present the MVPP Star Award to Auburn Site Manager Roger L. Schroeder, Auburn Safety Team Leader Sandy Holka, and the Auburn Safety and Health Committee, who will accept on behalf of all employees. Invited guests and employees will attend the presentation and luncheon.

The Dow Corning Auburn site is a chemical manufacturing facility which produces high-quality materials primarily for the electronics, automotive and aerospace industries.
