DLEG Recognizes Schoolcraft College and CVS Pharmacy for No Worker Left Behind Partnership; Students Trained for Careers in Health Care - News Release

August 11, 2008 - LANSING, MI - On Wednesday, August 13, 2008, the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG) will recognize Schoolcraft College in Livonia and CVS Pharmacy for their efforts to train and hire NWLB-funded students for emerging health care careers in the first year of the NWLB initiative.

Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the NWLB initiative on August 1, 2007:  an ambitious plan to train 100,000 citizens in three years for jobs in high demand occupations, emerging industries, and entrepreneurial endeavors. NWLB provides up to two years of free tuition at any Michigan community college, university, or other approved training program for qualifying participants.
