DECEMBER 19, 2001 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the nurse license of Kenneth Paul Abler, Jr., R.N., due to a conviction involving a controlled substance. The CIS Bureau of Health Services orders a summary suspension when it believes the public’s health, safety and welfare warrant emergency action. Abler failed to report the conviction to CIS as required by the Public Health
On December 11, 2001, Abler’s license was summarily suspended pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon conviction of a misdemeanor involving a controlled substance. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Abler’s suspended nursing license.
