(LANSING) - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the dentist license of Randolph A. Wirth, D.D.S. due to a felony conviction of Health Care Fraud. The CIS Bureau of Health Services orders a summary suspension when it believes the public’s health, safety and welfare warrant emergency action. Additionally, Wirth failed to report the conviction to the Department as required by the Public Health Code.
On November 21, 2001, Wirth’s license to practice as a dentist was summarily suspended pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Wirth’s suspended dentist license.
