DECEMBER 15, 1999 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the licensed practical nurse license and registered nurse license of Christine Gail Hill for violating the terms of her disciplinary limited license and practicing below minimum standards for her profession. The CIS Bureau of Health Services orders a summary suspension when it believes the public’s health, safety and welfare warrant emergency action.
Hill was previously disciplined by the Michigan Board of Nursing, which limited her license and placed her on probation in 1996 in response to concerns about her ability to practice safely and competently. The limited license required Hill to be supervised by a registered nurse knowledgeable of her circumstances. Hill failed to comply with the terms of her limitation and probation, and continued to practice below standards.
Based upon Hill’s ongoing competence issues and her violation of the terms of her limitation and probation, CIS summarily suspended her nursing licenses. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Hill’s suspended nursing licenses.
