NOVEMBER 19, 1999 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the registered nurse license of Jacquelyn L. Gilbert for substance abuse. Enacted legislatively five years ago, the HPRP encourages health professionals to address their problems before their impairment harms a patient or damages their careers.
Although Gilbert agreed to the requirements of the program, she was not successful at following the recommended treatment. The HPRP closed her file and returned it to the Department, which summarily suspended her license. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address
