Croll Named Head of CIS Corporation, Securities and Land DevelopmentBureau

AUGUST 14, 1997 - Kathleen Wilbur, Director of the Michigan Department of Consumer &Industry Services, has appointed Julie Croll to head the CIS Corporation,Securities and Land Development Bureau, effective Aug. 18.

 

Croll replaces the late Carl Tyson, who headed the Bureau for many years. Currently the Director of Licensing in the Office of Commercial Services, Croll also served in the Departments of Licensing & Regulation, and Commerce.

 

"Julie comes into this position with a strong working knowledge of the Bureau," said Wilbur. "Having interacted with her in a variety of capacities for many years, I know that her experience, expertise and management skills will serve the department well."

 

As one of the state's key regulatory agencies, the Corporation, Securities and Land Development Bureau protects investors and encourages new businesses. It oversees sales of stocks and bonds, licenses securities brokers and agents, and registers corporations and limited partnerships doing business in Michigan. In addition, it governs many aspects of mobile homes and living care facilities for senior citizens.

 

New service options at the Bureau allow consumers to fax requests for record information, certified documents and certificates. Other basic information,services and procedures can be accessed through the Bureau's new web site at http://www.cis.state.mi.us/corp/.
