DECEMBER 03, 2003 - The Michigan Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS) has summarily suspended the nursing license of Judith Gail Redmond, L.P.N., due to her misdemeanor convictions in the 2A Judicial District Court, Lenawee County, Michigan.
On September 22, 2003, Redmond pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of Controlled Substance-Possession of Marijuana and one misdemeanor count of Controlled Substance-Use of Marijuana. Redmond was placed on probation for 12 months and ordered to pay fines and costs totaling $1285.00.
On November 19, 2003, CIS summarily suspended Redmond’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a misdemeanor involving she illegal delivery, possession or use of a controlled substance. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Redmond’s nursing license.
