Description of the Bill: The bill amends the Code of Criminal Procedure to provide an extended statute of limitations from 6 to 8 years for criminal sexual conduct cases outlined in HB 4525. Such cases involve the sexual penetration or contact between mental health professionals and their patients, or members of the clergy and their flock a criminal offense, regardless of whether or not the sexual activity was consensual.
HB 4526 is tie-barred to HB 4525, and would take effect on June 1, 2000.
