On October 1, 2009, the State of Michigan will process the 16 hour personal leave grant for eligible employees (eligibility requirements vary for exclusively represented employees). Employees who work less than full time will receive a prorated portion of the grant. The grant will be added to your annual leave balance. If your annual leave adjustments, usage, and accruals recorded for the pay period ending October 3, 2009, cause your annual leave balance to exceed your annual leave maximum, the annual leave balance will be reduced to the annual leave maximum as of October 4, 2009.
You should carefully review your current annual leave balances and consider the impact of the additional hours and your regular biweekly accrual. If you are near your annual leave cap, you are encouraged to use the appropriate amount of time by October 2, 2009 to avoid losing any time. Please check the chart below to find out what your annual leave maximum cap is.
