The Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs (Legislative, Rules, Boundary Commission and Energy Office) strives to reduce unnecessary rules and regulations, strengthen policies and laws relating to consumer economic activity and workforce improvement, and assist consumers to enhance Michigan's economy and quality of life.

Vision Statement:

To enhance Michigan's economy and quality of life, our skilled staff will support the Department and its bureaus in all rulemaking and legislative efforts to help improve delivery of services to the public, assist municipalities and government entities with their diverse boundary issues, and enhance the public's knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy opportunities for residential, business, and institutional applications that are economically and environmentally sound.
