| Elevator Examination Schedule, Licensing Information and Applications |
Qualifications for Journeyperson's License
•Three years of continuous employment as a supervisor of elevator construction or service, or as an elevator constructor, serviceman, maintenance man, or repairman. (Up to one year of credit may be provided for a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from a recognized college or university.)
•Must take and pass the examination.
Application for Elevator Journeyperson License Examination
Qualifications for Contractor's License
•Five years experience as an elevator constructor or journeyperson, or equivalent.
•Must take and pass the examination.
Application for Elevator Contractor License Examination
Qualifications for Certificate of Competency (C of C)
General elevator inspector
•Three years of experience in elevator construction.
•Provide two written references certifying your experience in the elevator industry.
•Pass the written and oral examination.
Special elevator inspector
•Three years of experience in designing, installing, maintaining, or inspecting elevators.
•Provide two written references certifying your experience in the elevator industry.
•Pass the written and oral examination.
