Applications may be submitted based on the following criteria:
CET Safety Awards
The CET Division recognizes the safety achievements of Michigan employers and employees through CET Safety Awards based on excellent safety and health performance.
The Bronze Award recognizes leadership and commitment to safety resulting in reduced injury and illness cases by 50% or more within the last three years.
The Silver Award recognizes an exceptional safety record of 50,000 - 1,500,000 continuous hours worked without days away from work based on the employer’s size and type of business.
The Gold Award recognizes 100,000 - 2,000,000 continuous hours worked without days away from work based on the employer’s size and type of business.
And the Platinum Award recognizes an outstanding safety record of 250,000 - 7,500,000 continuous hours worked without days away from work based on the employer’s size and type of business.
The awards are recommended by CET consultants after review and verification of the employer’s written and implemented safety and health policies and procedures; established safety and health committee; appointed safety and health personnel; MIOSHA recordables and workplace safety experience.
MIOSHA Ergonomics Awards
The CET Division recognizes ergonomic achievements of Michigan employers and employees through the MIOSHA Ergonomic Innovation and Ergonomic Success awards. The innovation award is presented for implementing ergonomic innovations to reduce strain by eliminating force or weight, pressure point; improving tool grip, body posture; eliminating vibration, static hold; and reduction of repetition, etc. The ergonomic success award is presented for ergonomic improvements that have resulted in the traumatic sprain/strain injuries; reduction of CTD cases by at least 25% over the previous 12 months; and a below Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) average incidence rate. Employee involvement in these achievements is required.
