The Michigan Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant Workshop Series
The Michigan Bureau of Energy Systems (BES), a division of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth, will conduct workshops in four locations across the state for non-entitlement cities and counties to discuss the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 (ARRA).

EECBG Guidance for Michigan Communities Seminar Materials
Hosted by the Michigan Municipal League (MML) in partnership with the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DeLEG). The day-long seminar examined job creation through effective use of Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funds with leveraging of other resources. The seminar also provided the most current information on the application and reporting requirements for entitlement communities plus the states' plan for distributing funds to non-entitlement communities.

State Energy Office Awards Rebuild Michigan Community Partnership Grant
On Friday, December 19, 2008, Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG) Director Stanley F. Pruss announced that the WARM Training Center would be awarded a matching grant of $15,000 to continue their Rebuild Michigan Detroit community partnership project in Detroit.

The Michigan Energy Office is offering incentives including technical support and rebates to Rebuild Michigan Community Partnerships (RMCPs) to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy use within their communities beginning on October 1, 2008.

Program activities are designed to encourage the use of new technologies and alternative fuels in buildings, industrial processes,
vehicles and in power generation. Program objectives are advanced through a variety of services, including information dissemination, technical assistance, financial assistance and demonstration projects. The primary funding source for Bureau of Energy Systems (BES) activities is the U.S. Department of Energy . The BES operates within the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DeLEG) .
